Define guidance
Guidance is the use of strategies used to help the performer improve their skill
Define visual guidance
Visual guidance is where the performer is shown a model in order to form a mental picture of the skill in their mind. The demonstration can be a picture, DVD or a demonstration.
Define verbal guidance
Verbal guidance is where the learner is told what to do and is a spoken instruction
Define manual guidance
Manual guidance is where the learner is given physical support by the teacher who moves joints and limbs through the movements
Define mechanical guidance
Mechanical guidance is where the learner uses equipment or apparatus to help learn the skill. The equipment/apparatus supports the body through the movement to develop confidence.
