Q

When did Wolsey try to introduce the Amicable grant and why was it unsuccessful?

A

1525, it was essentially a forced loan that would never be repaid to the king, therefore created a rebellion in Suffolk at which men conveyed their loyalty to the king but their anger at the grant’s affects and high tax. They were all pardoned and Wolsey took the fall for the tax, damaging his reputation.
