What was the Truman doctine?
A
In 1947, Truman announced a new policy. He stated that if any free
country came under threat from communism, America would intervene
either with troops or economic resources to protect it.

What is the Containment Policy?
A
Communism was free to exist wherever it had already taken hold, but
would not be allowed to threaten anywhere else.

What was the Marshal plan?
A
The Marshall Plan of 1947 pledged $13 billion of American
aid to help rebuild European economies. The Americans had
a real fear that if western Europe was not rebuilt, it could fall
victim to communism as eastern Europe had.
