What is the Mazzotti reaction?
A
treatment of Onchocerciasis (typically w/ Ivermectin) results in release of proteins by dead bugs. this results in systemic symptoms of muscle pains, lymphangitis, hypotension, tachycardia, etc.
most symptoms controlled w/ antihistamines and NSAIDs
