A

Indirect treatment

A

Comes from diagnosogenic theory and focuses on changing the environment–no longer practiced w/o some direct tx.

7 Goals for PreK

A
  1. Parent will be a good listener regardless of fluency
  2. Parent will ID stressors in the child’s environment
  3. Create a fluency facilitating environment.
  4. Reduce communcative stress (slow rate, delayed response, etc.)
  5. Establish open communication and talk directly about stuttering.
  6. Explore speech and stuttering
  7. Modify speech behaviors
