How do you reduce motion sickness symptoms (6)
A
- not eating/drinking too much before travel
- Avoid alcohol before travel
- Avoid focusing on close objects when travelling
- Concentrate on the horizon
- Plenty of fresh air
- Avoid looking at moving objects

What treatment is there for travel sickness (4)
A
- Hyoscine hydrobromide - 20 mins before, every 6 hrs (drowsy)
- Antihistamines - connarizine (stugeron)
- acupressure bands
- Ginger

How is traveller’s diarrhoea treated (6)
A
- avoid fatty/oily/spicy foods
- avoid alcohol
- plenty water
- oral rehydration solutions
- Bismuth subsalicylate (NO under 16s & aspirin allergy)
- Loperamide (12+) - short term

Who should be referred to the pharmacist for travellers’ diarrhoea (7)
A
- Children and the elderly
- Customers who have travelled to high risk areas
- If symptoms have not improved within three days or continue to get worse
- If symptoms do not start to improve or continue to get worse.
- If the patient develops a fever
- If there is blood or mucus in the stool
- If the patient is not able to keep any fluids down because of very watery stools or repeated vomiting
