What is meant when something is tangible
Something that can be handled. For example, boarding pass, luggage, food, the seats etc.
What is meant when something is intangible?
Something that cannot be handled. For example, travel insurance, the promise of a safe journey.
What is a gateway?
A place where travellers leave or enter a country. E.g., airport, seaport, train station and bus station.
What is a hub?
A central transport facility such as an airport where other transport operates as taxis, buses, trains.
What is a package holiday?
A pre-arranged combination of transport, accommodation and other tourist services.
What are hire cars?
Paying money for the use of a car while abroad. Popular companies include Hertz, Avis and Europcar. Often offer online booking, airport pick up/drop off and varying levels of insurance cover.
What are private cars?
Using your own car for travel – mostly used for domestic travel and day trips.
What are taxis?
Generally only for short journeys as can be expensive. Some companies specialise in longer journeys such as airport trips.
