What are tourist arrivals?
Number of visitors to a destination.
What are tourist generators?
Countries that produce outbound tourists (The countries where the tourists come from).
What are tourist reciepts?
The amount of money that tourists spend at their destination/country.
What is the balance of payments?
Measure of the economic transactions between the UK and the rest of the world, showing the difference between exports and imports.
What is gross domestic product (GDP)
The value of all goods and services produced by a country within a given period – shows how productive and wealthy a country is.
Indirect employment
Any job in an industry that supports the travel and tourism industry. For example, hospitality and catering.
Direct employment
Any job at any level in the travel and tourism industry. For example, airline staff, hotel workers, finance managers for a travel agent.
