What are some criteria for liver transplantation in HCC?

In an otherwise fit candidate the following disease criteria need to be met:

Milan criteria:
- Single tumour <5cm or 2-3 tumours <3cm
- no vascular spread
- no extra-hepatic spread

University of California San Fransisco (UCSF) criteria:
- single tumour <6,5cm, or 2-3 tumours <4.5cm (with total tumour diameter <8cm)
- No vascular invasion
- No extra-hepatic spread
