Training Flashcards
3 categories of training
1 initial
2 conversion training to a particular aircraft type
3 recurrent training to maintain aircraft qualifications
What training is human factors included in
Initial training
What is to be completed first human factors training or CRM
Human factors to be done before or at the same time as CRM
Does CRM have to carried out by qualified CRM instructor
Yes but may be assisted by other experts
Can you fly another aircraft type while undergoing conversion training
No
What is included in conversion course
Ground training and checking
Emergency and safety equipment training = must be completed before start flying training
Flight sim training (operator proficiency check (OPC) licence proficiency check (LPC)
CRM
line flying
Line check
What is a line proficiency check
Check you can fly aircraft to a competent standard
Valid for 12 months plus rest of month
What is operator proficiency check (OPC)
Check you can fly to companies standards
Every 6 months
Must demonstrate normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures under IFR
Often every second one done in conjunction with LPC
OPC - OPC LPC - OPC
What is in a OPC
Rejected take off
Take off with engine failure between V1 and V2
Precision instrument approach to minima with one engine out
Non precision approach to minima
Missed approach on instruments from minima with one engine out
Landing with one engine out
SEP practiced forced landing
When can a OPC have its validity extended
If done within final 3 months of previous validity = will have new validity added after expiry date of previous validity
What is a line check
Asses you can fly to a satisfactorily standard
Will be assessed on CRM
can not fail on CRM only
Valid for 12 months plus remainder of the month
How quickly must a line check be done for zero time training courses
Within 21 days after skill test
What is involved in annual ground / refresher training
Systems (1/3 each year)
Operational procedures
Review of relevant accidents / incidents

(Tri annual = practically use it)
CRM training
When is all weather operations training complete
Before each winter period as part of LPC
When is dangerous goods training done
Every 24 months
How much flying does a pilot need to do to be recent
3 take offs and landings in last 90 days as pilot flying / in aircraft or sim
May be extended to 120 days if being supervised by a type rating examiner
When should differences and familiarisation training be done
When operating more than one variant of same aircraft
Change of SOPs
What is the max number of inexperience crew on a flight deck
