What is an acceptance check list
A document used to assist in carrying out a check in the external appearance of packages of dangerous goods and their associated documents to determine that all appropriate requirements have been met
What is a dangerous goods accident
An occurrence associated with and related to the transport of dangerous goods which results in fatal or serious injury to a person on major property damage
Dangerous goods incident
An occurrence other than a dangerous goods accident associated with and related to the transport of dangerous goods which results in injury to a person property damage, fire breakage, spillage, leakage of fluid or radiation or other evidence that the integrity of the packaging has not been maintained. Any occurrence which seriously jeopardises the aircraft or its occupants
What is a serious injury
Required hospitalisation for more than 48 hours commencing within 7 days from date of injury
Results in a fractured bone (except fingers toes or nose)
Severe nerve, muscle, or tendon damage
Injury to internal organ
2/3rd degree burns to more than 5% or body surface
How often do flight crew need dangerous goods training
Every 24 months
What dangerous goods are forbidden
Unstable explosives
Any substance likely to produce dangerous quantities of heat / gas under normal air transport conditions
Dangerously toxic or corrosive substances
What goods are allowed to be transported without applying to some of the strict dangerous goods requirements
Dangerous goods in operators property
Dangerous goods carried by passengers and crew
Dangerous goods in airmail
Dangerous goods in excepted quantities
