A

Improves understanding of the roles and priorities of organisations that respond to incidents on road

COLLISION - Collisions and other incidents can close carriageway lanes which affects the economy
LEAD - Effective leadership needs to be established to coordinate response
EVALUATE - Understanding the scale of the incident ensures a proportionate response
ACT - All incident responders act in partnership
RE-OPEN - Carriageway lanes are reopened ASAP to reduce impact of incident on road closure and economy

The type of traffic management measures that have been implemented
An estimation of when the carriageway could be reopened
Handing over command and control of the scene to the appropriate partner agency
Holding debriefs that identify and agree lessons learned etc.

Explain roles and responsibilities of partner agencies working with police to investigate cause of incident safely

A

Working together and supporting one another in accordance with standard procedures to co-ordinate actions at the scene

Reducing the risk of danger to themselves and other road users, by adopting safe working practices at incident scenes

Having effective and coordinated leadership from individual partner agency scene commanders. Leadership at an incident will rest with the first person on the scene until relieved by a designated commander

Define Section 170(1) Road Traffic Act 1988

A

Owing to the presence of a mechanically propelled vehicle (MPV) on a road or other public place, an accident occurs whereby;
personal injury is caused to a person (other than the driver of that MPV)
OR
damage is caused to:
a vehicle (other than the MPV or any trailer drawn by it)
OR
an animal (other than one in or on that MPV or any trailer drawn by it)
OR
any other property, constructed on, fixed to, growing in or otherwise forming part of the land on which the road or other place in question is situated or land adjacent to such land.

A
