Ingestion causing hallucinations and nystagmus
Phencyclidine (PCP)
Prenatal exposure causing jitters, agitation, crying, diarrhea, vomiting, hypothermia, hyper/hypotonia
SSRI and opioids
Intrapartum cocaine use
Gastroschisis (other vasoactive substances too eg. nicotine, pseudoephedrine)
Peripartum lithium use
Ebstein anomaly
Peripartum isotretinoin use
Congenital defects (craniofacial, cardiovascular, neurological, and thymic)
Peripartum carbamazepine use
Spinal bifida, craniofacial, cardiovascular, and hypospadias
Fever, urticarial rash, arthralgia, lymphadenopathy 1-2 weeks after antibiotics
Serum-syndrome like illness: Rash (pruritic urticaria andedema), polyarthritis, GI complaints. Sxs last 7-10 days then resolve spontaneously. Tx: Stop offending agent and supportive care.
Vitamin deficiency in chronic alcohol use
B1 (thiamine) and folate
Serotonin syndrome treatment
Benzodiazipine and Cyproheptadine (H1 receptor antagonist with 5-HT2A antagonism)
Organophosphate poisoning
Atropine and pralidoxime (prevents aging)
Cyanide poisoning
Hydroxycobalamin or Sodium thiosulfate
