Maculopapular rash on palms and soles.

Penicillin
Treat mothers seropositive for syphilis with

Skin, mouth, and eye vesicles which can progress to severe CNS and systemic infections
Herpes simplex (HSV)
Treat HSV (herpes simplex) with
Acyclovir
Highest risk is from mothers with a primary infection of this. If mother has active lesions at time of delivery, perform a C-section
HSV
Petechial rash.
Periventricular calcifications.
Microcephalic.
Chorioretinitis
CMV
Treat CMV with
Ganciclovir
“Blueberry muffin” rash. Cataracts. Hearing loss. Encephalitis. PDA and other cardiac defects
Rubella
No treatment for this other than immunizing mothers prior to pregnancy
Rubella
Hydrocephalus. Seizures. Chorioretinitis (inflammation of choroid and retina of eye). Intracranial calcifications and ring-enhancing lesions on head CT
Toxoplasmosis
Avoid exposure to cats and cat feces in pregnancy. Avoid raw/undercooked meat. Treat women with primary infection

Treat with pyrimethamine, sulfadiazine, and spiramycin
