Better healthcare and standard of living - Japan has a health regime similar to the NHS. everyone is able to access it even poor people so people will live longer due to the quality of medical care

Low fat diets - Even though Japan is a HIC they have low cases of obesity and heart problems as their diet mainly revolves around fish and rice rather than mean and bread.

Women have access to an education and career so are less likely to have children - This could be due to the fact Japan has no major world religions so women are treeated fairly - less babies

Contraception is available and accessible - widely used people won’t have children

Cost of eductaion - Education is Japan is highly expenisve, so most people only choose to have one child from this factor
