Q

Compression of gas

A

Gasses are compressible because their particles are so far apart that they can be squeezed together. an example of this is an airbag being compressed when a person hits it.
compression of gas is made possible by 3 things
1. must be enclosed
2. distribute themselves equally among the container
3. the space between the particles is what makes it possible.

Q

compression of liquids

A

while gasses are compressible liquids are incompressible because their particles are not spread out enough. when they have external force applied to them the liquid transmits the energy.
