Topic 7/17 Flashcards
What does it mean if Qc is higher than Kc? How about lower?
Higher means that reverse reaction is favoured, lower means that forward reaction is favoured
At a spontaneous reaction what are the gibs and entropy values
Gibs is lowest and entropy is highest
How does reversing and changing coefficents of equilibrium equation affect kc
1) new kc is reciprocal
2) if coefficents doubled, kc squared
For gibbs free energy equation answer should be in what?
kJ so you have to divide 8.31/1000
Ice Table coefficents what do you put for concentration?
+/- x but in front of x coefficent
Which factor does NOT affect vapour pressure of liquid in equilibrium
Volume of container and liquid, these changes will cause the vapour to readjust the equilibrium, so does NOT affect
Changes in temperature increase kinetic energy
Why would adding dilute solution instead of concentrated in esterification affect yield?
Dilute adds water which is a product
What equilibrium constant corresponds to a spontaneous reactionwith the most negative value of G?
highest Kc
