Q

What are the four factors that affect rate of reaction+explain

A

Temperature-faster particles and more energy
Concentration/Pressure-more collisions as particles are closer
Surface area-more collisions as more area is exposed
Catalyst-lowers activation energy

Q

How does temperature affect a reversible reaction

A

If you increase the temperature, the reaction will shift towards the endothermic direction. If you decrease temperature, the reaction will shift in the exothermic direction

Q

How does pressure affect a reversible reaction

A

If you increase the pressure, the reaction will shift towards the side that has less molecules. If you decrease the pressure, the reaction will shift towards the side that has more molecules. Only works with gases

Q

How does concentration affect a reversible reaction

A

If you increase the concentration of the reactants then more products will be made. If you increase the concentration of the product then more products will be made.
