Q

What are the limitations of Attachment Style Theory?

A

Secure attachment was not consistently common in certain populations ( spoiled child in some cultures )

The 3 main attachment styles are not found everywhere ( avoidant attachment style not found in Dogon because the mother is always close with their mothers )

Although there is a universal need for children to form attachments with caregivers, there is some cultural variation with attachment styles ( Stranger anxiety- dependent on the context of socialization of the child )
