Q

Nerve Impulse

A

The transmission of signal within a nerve cell is essentially electrical.

Not flow of electrons though!
It is the flow of charged particles (ions) that is the basis of the electrical potentials.

The most common ions in the environment surrounding the cell (extracellular fluid) are Na+, K+, Cl- and Ca2+.
