Benefits: large choice means best candidate, mew ideas and perspectives into firm
Drawbacks: expensive to recruit and then train, time consuming

- From this, person specification created from qualities required (education/experience/skills)

Benefits: specialists, focus on training not work, for the richest
Drawbacks: little motivation, may be different to actual role, costs
Benefits and drawbacks of on the job training (doing job role under supervision and guidance)
Benefits: actual work location, materials, staff / guided for confidence, productive for business
Drawbacks: trainers need to be skilled, time consuming, could pass bad habits down
