Navigation in a user interface should include
buttons to get around a website easily. A rollover sub menu to allow users to drill down before they disappear. Also a breadcrumb trail to allow the user to backtrack
The 3 click rule states that
important information should be no more than three mouse clicks away at any time.
Selection consistency ensures that
everything on a page and website match, to make a site look professional and more appealing for users
Interactivity makes sites
more appealing and engaging for a user. It is achieved through elements like: a built in search engine facility, discussion areas etc.
Readability makes sure that the page
including font is easy to read. This can be achieved by: avoiding all capital letters and using large enough text. Using a contrasting background color and keeping text left aligned.
