  • cohabiting involves raising a family before marriage, but Catholics believe procreation should be saved for marriage and a nuclear family
  • same sex marriages can’t procreate so they aren’t supported

  • children’s groups like youth clubs allows catholic socialising if they don’t attend a Catholics school

  • teaches against divorce as the couple would be breaking the sacramental and covenantal bond with a God
  • divorce goes against teachings of jesus and 10 commandments
  • annulment can take place when the church allows it e.g. if there is something fundamentally wrong with the marriage
  • allows civil divorce and not ex-communicated as understands it happens in society but this is not in the eyes of the church
  • remarriage only f the partner dies, of not they are committing adultery and bigamy hence breaking the covenant

  • jesus allows divorce in Matthew 5:32 for a partner’s adultery so the church should to
  • a greater evil is not to divorce as in some situations it is better than living in quarrel, hatred and poor child life

  • teachings of st.Paul show we are all equal and the body of Christ so it is a disgrace to treat women unequally in society

  • men and women both made in image of God
