Why are the MESM branch selecting personnel for fast track?
LET’s and PO’s are leaving the Rn with qualifications they have gained. This leaves a personnel gap in these positions. Due to this the ME branch has decided to give students who show academic prowess and a willingness to learn the ability to reach these positions more quickly.
How does the fast track system work?
Students must first qualify for the scheme by having an average of 75% or over on their exams. students must then outline why they wish to apply for fast-track by use of a letter addressed to the board president. This grants them the chance to sit across from a board and show why they should be selected, if successful candidates will complete BSQ, SMQ and firefighting training and be drafted to a boat for a minimum of 12 months after the 12 months has elapsed candidates will return to sultan to begin LETQC for 18 months.
Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years time?
I would like to have completed POET course and by this time i would like to have expressed my interest in becoming an officer.
Why should this board select you for the fast track scheme?
I have shown initiative in furthering my career just by expressing my interest in the fast-track scheme. I have excelled in my examinations and I would like to have a long career in the RN where I can eventually transfer to officer.
