Describe plant state A
A
The normal operating state, the reactor may or may not be critical. Full containment must be available to withstand LOCA.

A
Permits most maintenance to be performed without the need to lower the primary temperature to PSB conditions.

Describe Plant state B
A
This is the normal shutdown state with reduced temperature, also minimised energy release in the event of an accident occurring.

Describe plant state C
A
similar to PSB but with further restrictions due to it’s association with containment state 4. It is intended to minimise the likelihood of the core overheating.
