Describe the primary containment boundary.

A

It is formed by the reactor compartment bulkheads and pressure hull. The inner doors are open and the outer doors are shut. This includes the RSC tunnel and airlocks.

Describe the intermediate containment boundary.

A

This state excludes the RSC tunnel and airlocks. It is used to protect personnel working in the RSC when a loss of coolant accident (LOCA) occurs.

Describe the secondary containment boundary.

A

An additional boundary outside the primary containment boundary it is not an alternative but an addition. it is formed by the first available designated bulkhead and can be extended to include the complete pressure hull.
