Steps to light a Bunsen Burner

A

1) Connect gas hose to the gas tap
2) Make sure the air hole is closed
3) Light the match and place over the top of the barrel
4) Turn your gas on
5) Your Bunsen burner should now be alight with a yellow flame.
6) This is called a safety flame because it is easy to see
7) Gently open the air hole until you have a blue flame
8) This is the flame we use to heat things, it is the hottest flame
9) If your Bunsen goes out, turn the gas off straight away and start again
