How to tell upper or lower incisors?
Upper incisors are larger.
Crowns are more square shaped and have more rounded angles.
Roots are also more conical shaped.
Lower incisors are smaller/narrower.
Have sharp/straight lines to the crowns.
Roots are very narrow mesial-distally compared to facial/lingually.
How to tell if upper or lower canine?
Upper canine has more prominent cingulum, lingual fossae, distal bulge, and ridges.
Lower canine has less prominent cingulum, lingual fossae, distal bulge, and ridges.
How to tell upper or lower premolars?
Cusps of upper premolars are centred over the root.
Cusps of lower premolars are tilted lingually.
How to tell if upper or lower molars?
Upper molars have three roots.
Lower molars have two roots.
