• Two or more early uncavitated lesions.
• One or more cavitated primary or secondary carious lesions.
• Presence of at least one factor that may increase caries risk.

What are the different caries risk factors?

Answer 3

• Evidence of early/cavitated carious lesions.
• Developmental or acquired enamel defects.
• inadequate or impaired protection by saliva.
• Poor oral hygiene
• suboptimal fluoride exposures.
• evidence of poor dietary habits - >4 sugar intakes.
• Poor social history/socioeconomic status.
• Medically compromised/physical disability.

Question 4

For a standard risk of less than 3 years child what should be noted?
