TNM Minor Flashcards
T Staging for Oral Cavity
T1 - < or = 2 cm T2 - 2 < x < 4 cm T3 - > 4 cm but doesn’t invade other structures T4 - T4a: Invades adjacent stuctures - cortical bone, deep m. of tongue, maxillary sinus, skin of face T4b: Masticator space, pterygoid plates or skull bnase and/or encases internal carotid artery T4 if lip site: invades through cortical bone, inferior alveolar nerve, floor of mouth or skin of face
N staging for oral cavity
N1 - Single ipsilateral LN < or = 3 cm N2a - Single ipsilateral LN 3 < x <; 6 cm N2b - Multiple ipsilateral LN, none > 6 cm N2c - Bilateral or contralateral LN, > 6 cm N3 - LN > 6 cm
T staging Oropharynx
T1 - < 2 cm T2 - 2 < x < 4 cm T3 - > 4 cm T4a - Invades larynx, deep/extrinsic m of tongue, medial ptyergoid, hard palate or mandible T4b - Invades lateral pterygoid m, ptyergoid plates, lateral nsaspharynx, or skull base or encases carotid artery

T staging for Larnyx - Supraglottic
T1 - one Subsite of supraglottis with normal vocal cord mobility T2 - Invade mucosa of more than one adjacent subsite without fixation of glottis T3 - Limited to larynx with vocal cord fixation and or invades any of the following: postcricoid areas, pre-epiglotttic tissues, paraglottic space and/or minor thyroid cartilage erosion T4a - Invades through thyroid cartilage and/or invades stisseus beyond the larynx T4b - Invades prevertebral space, encases carotide artery or invades mediastinal structures
T staging for Larynx - Subglottis
T1 - Limited to subglottis T2 - Extends to vocal cords and normal or impaired mobility T3 - Limited to larynx with vocal cord fixation T4a - Invades cricoid or thyroid cartilage and/or invades tissues beyond the larynx T4b - Invades prevertebral space, encases carotid artery or invades mediastinal structures
T staging for Larynx - Glottis
T1 - Limited to the vocal cord T1a - Limited to one vocal cord T1b - Involves both vocal cords T2 - Extends to supraglottis and/or subglottis and/or with impaired vocal cord mobility T3 - Limited to larynx with vocal cord fixation and/or invades the paraglottic space and/or minor thyroid cartilage erosion T4a - Invades through the thyroid cartilage and/or invades tissues beyond the larynx T4b - Invades prevertebral spaces, encases carotid artery or invades mediastinal structures

Oral cavity Oropharynx - supraglottic, glottic and subglottic
T staging for Nasal cavity and nasal pharynx - Maxillary sinus
T1 - Limited to Maxillary sinus mucosa with no erosion or destruction of bone T2 - Causing bone erosion or destruction, including extension into the hard palate and/ or middle nasal meatus, except extension to posterior wall of maxillary sinus and pterygoid plates T3 - Invades: bone of the posterior wall of the maxillary sinus, SQ tissue, floor of medial wall of orbit, pterygoid fossa or ethmoid sinuses T4a - Invades: anterior orbital contents, skin of cheek, pterygoid plates, infratemporal fossa, cribiform plate, sphenoid or frontal sinuses T4b - Invades: Orbital apex, dura, brain, middle cranial foss, cranial nerves other than maxillary divsion of trigeminal nerve V2, nasopharynx or clivus
T staging - Nasal cavity and ethmoid sinus
T1 - One subsite, with or without bone invasion T2 - Invading two subsites in a single region or exxtending to involve and adjacent region within the nasethmoidal complex with or without bony invasion T3 - Invades medial wall, floor of orbit, maxillary sinus, palate, or cribiform plate T4a - Invades : anterior orbital contents, skin or nose or cheek, minimal extension to anterior cranial fossa, pterygoid plates, sphenoid or frontal sinuses T4b - Invades: orbital apex, dura, brain, middle cerebral fossa, cranial nerves other than V2, nasopharynx or clivus
