Targeting Range

A

35nm.
The range at which you bias your radar coverage to the group being targeted, then you assume responsibility from C2.

“Ninja 1, Targeted, Single/ Pop Up Group, Bullseye ***/ **, **thousand, Bandit/ Hostile.”

MTR

A

Minimum Targeting Range
30nm.
Range at which all Bandit and Hostile groups are allocated. Inside this range any targeted groups are “Pop Up Groups”.

TR

A

Transition Range
26nm.
Range outside of which you car fire, crank and support a missile and start your Out by DOR.
Inside TR you are committed to a Short Skate or Banzai tactic to either abort by MAR or penetrate MAR. Crossing TR changes you from Low to High risk.

A

Desired Out Range.
15nm.
Range from fighter to target from which, if an Out is flown, there is sufficient range to employ a follow on tactic (Short Skate or Banzai).

A

Minimum Recommit Range.
15nm.
The range required to fly a recommit, regain contact and shoot by LSR, to ensure the MRM is PITBULL by MAR.

A

Last Shot Range.
12nm.
The last range that a fighter can fire an MRM, crank and support it to PITBULL by MAR.

MAR

A

Minimum Abort Range.
8nm.
The latest range a fighter can execute Launch and Leave tactics (Skate) or Abort on a Launch and Decide tactic (Banzai) and defeat any hostile missiles.
On AJT, inside MAR you are committed to the merge.

A

That the fighter flies M0.7 when hot, M0.8 when cold and they crank to 60 degrees ATA when required.
