Timeline Ranges Flashcards
Targeting Range
35nm.
The range at which you bias your radar coverage to the group being targeted, then you assume responsibility from C2.
“Ninja 1, Targeted, Single/ Pop Up Group, Bullseye ***/ **, **thousand, Bandit/ Hostile.”
MTR
Minimum Targeting Range
30nm.
Range at which all Bandit and Hostile groups are allocated. Inside this range any targeted groups are “Pop Up Groups”.
TR
Transition Range
26nm.
Range outside of which you car fire, crank and support a missile and start your Out by DOR.
Inside TR you are committed to a Short Skate or Banzai tactic to either abort by MAR or penetrate MAR. Crossing TR changes you from Low to High risk.
DOR
Desired Out Range.
15nm.
Range from fighter to target from which, if an Out is flown, there is sufficient range to employ a follow on tactic (Short Skate or Banzai).
MRR
Minimum Recommit Range.
15nm.
The range required to fly a recommit, regain contact and shoot by LSR, to ensure the MRM is PITBULL by MAR.
LSR
Last Shot Range.
12nm.
The last range that a fighter can fire an MRM, crank and support it to PITBULL by MAR.
MAR
Minimum Abort Range.
8nm.
The latest range a fighter can execute Launch and Leave tactics (Skate) or Abort on a Launch and Decide tactic (Banzai) and defeat any hostile missiles.
On AJT, inside MAR you are committed to the merge.
What does the AJT timeline assume?
That the fighter flies M0.7 when hot, M0.8 when cold and they crank to 60 degrees ATA when required.
