Q

State the basic flow of a stern PI up to the point where you reach 1.5nm.

A

Commit
Detect
Declare

2D geometry to drive for 16 TASP
3D geometry to drive for sanctuary
SWATT Cx

At 16 TASP, fly the collision.

23nm - L3 Cx

20nm - Fly the reciprocal.

15TASP @ 15nm - how goes it.

14TASP (10nm) begin turn towards target.

Adjust turn to achieve:

14T at 10nm
13T at 7.5nm
12T at 5nm
09T at 3nm

Q

State the basic flow of a LL Phase 4 VID.

A

Commit
Once rolled out, roll radar elevation down to cover described location.
Detect and STT.
Make “targeted” call.

2D Geometry - Drive for, then maintain 18 TASP.
SWATT Cx
(MRM, ARM, TCAS Off)

Complete SMARTL Cx prior to reaching 2000ft AGL - ideally straight after SWATT.

At 28nm, start a 10 degree ND (idle) descent. Intercept 420kts and then use throttle to maintain.

At 20nm, place the bogey at 60ATA.

At 15TASP (usually about 8nm), fly the collision.
Call “Ninja 2, in [left/ right].
Select SRM and slave.

Gain tally.

At 0.5nm make the declaration.

Q

On a LL VID, when can you leave your >2000ft AGL sanctuary?

A

Only once you are tally.

17
Q

What actions should you take if asked to recover from descent during a LL Ph4 VID profile?

A

Apply full power.
Pull 5g to 30 degrees NU.

18
Q

State the Rule of Thumb for FQMD timing to achieve 5nm.

A

Stay in the notch for 1 second per mile of spike range.
