In the final session of parliament, Sir Thomas Young attempted to have York recognised as heir presumptive to the throne. Commons agreed but the Lords refused - Young was arrested and placed in the Tower of London
September 1451
York sent to the West Country to deal with conflict between Devon, Lord Moleyns and Lord Cobham on one side, Wiltshire and Bonville on the other

York marched to London, gathering an army. He wanted to replace Somerset as head of the government and put him on trial
