What is a time-delay relay?
A type of control relay that switches it’s contacts to new state after predetermined time
What are the components?
A coil, contacts (can have more than one set of NO/NC) , and timing mechanism
What is an application?
For electrical washers/dyers using timer controls for machine sequences
How do they operate?
They operate in on-delay, and off-delay
On-delay starts timing when input’s pressed
Off-delay starts timing when input’s released
How does a solid-state time-delay relay work?
How it is adjusted?
It uses a resister-capacitor networks that are accomplished by the RC time constant
By adjusting the capacitance or resistance of the circuit by the knob
What are traits of a solid-state time-delay relay?
Very low cost and easy to replace
