Synchronized cylinders function Flashcards
What is are synchronized cylinders?
A machine using multiple cylinders to accomplish a task that move together at the same time and speed
Why are synchronized cylinders used?
Because one cylinder may not have enough force for something
How can you setup synchronized cylinders?
Using mechanical synchronization where they are attached to the same machine part to link them
You could also use flow control values; the fluid flow controls the cylinders from balance
(The method used differs in control circuit)
Why do you sync cylinders with multiple limit switches?
Because flow control is used to balance speed but is not accurate
What is an application of synchronized cylinders?
A crimpling machine, process of pressing an object into regular ridges or folds, relays on two cylinders coming together at same time to press something together.
(Using their opposing force)
