Used to shift the value spool to control the operation of a pneumatic or hydraulic system of an electrical circuit

Powered and depowered?
A
When powered, the value pool shifts causing fluid to flow through the value and into the actuator
When depowered, the solenoid coil, a spring, shifts the value to original spot
