Thorax Blood supply Flashcards
follow blood from heart to left/right anterior thoracic wall
left:
left ventricle -> ascending aorta -> aortic arch -> left subclavian -> internal thoracic artery -> 1-11 (whichever) anterior intercostal artery
right:
left ventricle -> ascending aorta -> aortic arch -> brachiocephalic trunk -> right subclavian -> internal thoracic artery -> 1-11 (whichever) anterior intercostal artery
follow blood from heart to left/right posterior thoracic wall and to spinal cord
left ventricle -> ascending aorta -> aortic arch -> thoracic aorta -> intercostals (paired and segmental)
follow blood from heart to viscera with multiple unpaired arteries
left ventricle -> ascending aorta -> aortic arch -> thoracic aorta ->
(bronchials- resp tract , pericardials, esophageals, mediastinals)
follow blood from heart to viscera with paired arteries
left ventricle -> ascending aorta -> aortic arch -> thoracic aorta -> superior phrenics (diaphram)
all others :
left ventricle -> ascending aorta -> aortic arch -> thoracic aorta -> abdoinal aorta ->
(inferior phrenics -diaphram and inferior of esophagus, suprarenals-suprarenal glands, renals - kidneys, gonadals -testes and ovaries)
follow blood to abdominal wall
left ventricle -> ascending aorta -> aortic arch -> thoracic aorta -> abdominal aorta -> lumbars (paired, segmental) - vertebrae, spinal cord and abdominal wall
follow blood from heart to viscera with unpaired single arteries
left ventricle -> ascending aorta -> aortic arch -> thoracic aorta -> abdominal aorta -> celpiac trunk ->
(left gastric-stomach and part of esophagus, splenic-spleen stomach and pancreas, common hepatic-liver, gallbladder, stomach, duodenum, pancreas)
left ventricle -> ascending aorta -> aortic arch -> thoracic aorta -> abdominal aorta ->
(superior mesenteric - pancreas, small intestine, appendix, first two thirds of large intestine, inferior mesenteric - last third of large intestine)
follow blood from thoracic wall to heart
