Cardio

A

Hands: Splinter haemorrhage, Osler’s nodes, Jane way lesion
Jvp: raised = high RA pressure. Single wave= atrial fibrillation. Rising with inspiration=kussmaul’s sign/constrictive pericarditis. Large A wave=stiff RV. Large v wave =tricuspid regurgitation
Carotid pulse: bruit=Carotid narrowing
Auscultation: may use Carotid pulse to time.
Added heart sound: s3(turbulence during early filling of the ventricle)=dilated cardiomyopathy, volume overload due to mitral or aortic regurgitation. S4(turbulence during atrial contraction)=hypertension, aortic stenosis or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
