Theory 3 Flashcards
Explain why plants take up carbon dioxide during photosynthesis.
CO2 is a reactant. Concentration of CO2 is higher outside leaf, so diffuses into leaf.
Predict and explain what would happen to the rate of photosynthesis if the investigation is
continued at temperatures higher than 45°C, which is the temp the plant lives at.
rate slows, stomata close so little CO2 enters
testis function
produces sperm
sperm duct function
transports sperm but not urine
urethra function
passage of urine and seminal fluid through penis
prostate gland function
secrete seminal fluid
scrotum function
contains testes
bladder function
stores and releases urine into urethra
epididymus function
stores sperm
erectile tissue function
obtains blood to keep penis erect
DNA removed from a bacterial cell
plasmid
Explain why it is important that only some of the genes in cell A are expressed in these cells.
Plants have specialised cells which have different functions. Only specific proteins are required.
cortex function
blood is filtered
