Presentation Example
=depression has more psychological symptoms in US and more physical in China
=schizophrenics have the same volume, tone, and frequency of hallucinations, but the themes vary by culture

-Saudi Arabia: religious themes
Prognosis Example

-US and industrialized societies see as chronic, but unindustrialized societies do not
Overcontrolled and Undercontrolled Problems
- Us parents are more tolerant than Thai
- Thai have more overcontrolled problems –> depression, anxiety
- US have more undercontrolled problems –> bullying, outright disobedience
Sociocultural Risk Factors
- low socioeconomic status and unemployment
- prejudice and discrimination in gender, race, ethnicity
- social change and uncertainty
- urban stressors: violence and homelessness
