how does the thesis stand out against how Paul starts Romans?
in the beginning he writes: it is the power of God for salvation to every one who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. …God is my witness whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his son…this connects with thesis (idk if this is right but its a question on there)
Paul in Athens in Chapter 17 of Acts-retell
When Paul came to Athens he saw idols, was stirred, and argued with the Jews, people in the market, and philosophers. He publicly proclaimed of the logic of following God and that they were wrong. some mocked him, but a few followed.
After Athens, Paul goes to Corinth for 2 years. What’s his tone for conversion in Romans vs. Corinthians (read 1+2 Corinthians)
In Athens, Paul wants to get to the people through logic. this is unsuccessful as he converts only a few. He argues against other religions publicly and people don’t like this-mock him. In Corinth he later spends 2 years there (?) there, he only preached of the crucified Jesus Christ. He did not come proclaiming testimony in lofty words or wisdom.
