Sitting Bull was a Hunkpapa Indian on the Standing Rock Reservation.
- Police moved to arrest him at Pine Ridge. They believed he was planning to lead the Ghost Dance movement.
- He was shot in the struggle
- His followers fled the reservation and joined Big Foot near Wounded Knee Creek (South Dakota)
