Evaporation

A

The heat causes water vapour to rise into the atmosphere

Condensation

A

The water vapour cools and condenses into water droplets, which gather together to form clouds

Precipitation

A

Once the water droplets become too heavy for the clouds to hold, they are released as rain into low warm areas, and snow in high cold areas

Throughflow

A

Some water sinks into the soil. This is called infiltration the water then moves through the soil to the bottom of the slope. This is called throughflow

Some water moves into rock. This is called percolation. The water moves through the rock to the bottom of the slope as groundwater.
