What is a clone?
When an additional plant of the same vine grows but sometimes with favourable mutations. Example Pinot Noir mutated to pinot gris and pinot blanc

A new variety is produced from two parents of the same species.
What is a hybrid?
a vine whose parents come from 2 different vine species. Typically have one American parent

What is grafting?
a technique use to join a rootstock to a vinifera variety
What is heading grafting?
when a rootstock of one plant is developed and a winemaker wants to change the type of grape, they graft the desired portion to the head of the old wood (trunk). New grapes develop in that same year.

Permanent wood
