What are 2 features of the mosaic?
ALPHA AND OMEGA - Are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet showing that God is eternal, He has no beginning or end. Jesus is also described as the Alpha and Omega, showing that he is the incarnate Son of God and is also eternal.
THE CHI-RHO - This is a symbol to represent
Jesus. It is an ancient symbol of the connection between the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, showing the victory Jesus had over death and his position as the Son of God.
What is a piece of evidence to support this?
“I am the Alpha and Omega” - The Bible
How does this change a Catholic’s life?
Catholic Christians will use the artwork to help them to focus during prayer time and worship, where they will thank Jesus for dying for their sins and giving them the hope for an eternal life with God.
