Q

Explain Peters suggestion to build shelters for Jesus Moses and Elijah

A

It seems peculiar BUT the idea has its roots in the Old Testament. Before the temple was built the Israelites kept an Ark of the Covenant in a special tent called the Tabernacle. They believed that Gods presence rested within the tabernacle. So when Peter saw Jesus Moses and Elijah wrapped in Gods glory it was tents he thought that were needed

What does SON OF MAN mean?

A

This is a description that Jesus uses to describe himself. It is an old testament title and in using it Jesus is identifying with human suffering.

Jesus was the perfect example of how Gods will can be carried out by human beings in the world.

He was saying that his path was that of suffering and death not worldly glory and fame, but the disciples missed the point
