Q

David and Bathsheba: 2 Samuel 11:1-17

A
  • The role of the King in those days was to protect his people from their enemies. This story shows what happens when a leader forgets his role and puts himself first.
  • David thought that being King meant he was allowed to do things ordinary people were not allowed to do.

Q

David and Nathan:2 Samuel 12:1-14

A

-Nathan was a prophet and sometimes prophets were not always popular as their messages from God were seldom to peoples likings. However he was greatly respected which enabled him to tell David about Gods anger.
-David allowed his physical desire to rule his head.
-David was very shocked when he realised he was actually the man in Nathans parable and his behaviour had been unacceptable.
Jesus wanted to teach that all actions, good and bad have consequences.
