She was a suffragette who died on derby day by jumping in front of the kings horse.
What could be evidence that suggests Emily Davison was a political martyr?
She had the suffragette flag sewn on the inside of her coat.
She also went to prison many times believing heavily in deeds not words. She even threw herself over the railings of stairs in prison.
What evidence suggests that Emily Davison’s death was a tragic accident?
Emily and a pass for the suffragette summer festival. She had a pass for all days apart form the second as this was the day of the derby.
No one was looking at her so we can’t know what happens for sure as the kings horse was near to last in the race.

What restrictions did women face in the 20th century
It was not accepted that women could become doctors or lawyers as they weren’t allowed to be that educated. Women wanted to change this but couldn’t without an MP that would side with them. How could they get one by voting but they don’t have the right to vote.
What were the wspu tactics?
Chaining themselves to railings, smashing windows and setting fire to post boxes.
Why did women eventually get the vote?
WW1 showed that women could work and were capable to vote.
