Why did the Nazis persecute the Jews?
Because they believed the Jews where coming into the country to steal their jobs and it was their fault that the Germans lost ww1.
How did the nazis persecute the Jews?
The nazis first started persecution on the jews with propaganda. They then took tiny steps eventually moving up to moving all the jews into ghettos then coming up with the ‘final solution’ which was concentration camps were the Jews would be sent to work or die.
How did the Jews get to the concentration camps?
They would be on a train in cattle trucks for days at a time with no food or water and packed in so tightly there was only enough room to stand up straight. Many died on the way there.
What happened when the people arrived at the concentration camps?
The women and children of both sexes where put in one line. The stronger men and boys able to work were put in another. The first line would be sent to be killed by the gas chambers. The other were sent to work in the camp.
What were the living conditions like in the camps?
There were many wooden huts with 3 story bunk beds with 3 to a space. They would all be cramped together and had barely any clothes. They were only given a watery soup black bread and if they were lucky whale meat to eat.
What were the working conditions like?
They would have to do hard manual labour all day. Any companies built factories near by so they could take advantage of the workers.
How did the prisoners use self expression?
They would produce artwork, read, write poetry and tell stories. All of this showed how fragile human life is life is.
How did people die?
They would be sent to the gas chambers, be used to experiment on, beaten, shot or die of the horrible conditions.
What were the gas chambers like?
The gas chambers were disguised as showers. Going in you are stripped of everything, hair shaved and sent in. Zyclon B gas was used to kill them. After the screaming stopped the Nazis would open the doors and make the other workers take them out search them and put them in a crematorium.
