A fashionable young woman intent on enjoying herself and flouting conventional standards of behaviour.
What are the Jim Crow laws?
It was legalised segregation in the south, causing many black Americans to feel excluded so Northern cities gained an influx in African Americans.
What was the Wall Street crash?
The Wall Street crash was the result of many Americans investing in stocks and shares. Then the industry started to decline. This lost many people jobs and caused a panic on Wall Street leading to everyone selling.
What is prohibition?
The law that made it illegal to produce, import, transport or sell alcoholic beverages
What was the Great Depression
The Great Depression is the event that followed the Wall Street crash. Many people where left with no money and some only got one free meal a day.
What new hobbies did people have?
Dancing, listening to music, yo-yoing and watching live sports.
